A hard, salty Italian cheese made out of full fat fresh sheep’s milk ( deriving from the word pecora meaning sheep) with a distinctive strong, very salty taste.

It is one of the oldest cheese known that originated more than 2000 years ago during the Roman Empire times and it is still made according to the original recipe.

Galbani’s Pecorino Romano is DOP (Protected Denomination of Origin) product strictly made in the area near Rome.

It is suitable mainly used for grating and most often used on pasta dishes.
